Why The Beach Holiday Will Never Go Out Of Fashion

Posted by Mutual-Funds | Hotel Review | Tuesday 21 July 2009 6:55 pm

If anyone ever asks for the time while on a beach holiday, they surely have a thing or two to learn. Simply put, beaches have a way of holding time on their own accord, and they will undoubtedly insist on taking you with them at their own, leisurely, pace. And why wouldn’t you want to go? White, powdery sand along crystal-clear waters, palm trees for shade, and the sea breeze simply epitomize pure relaxation.

Spend your well deserved time soaking up the brilliant rays and letting go of all your stress, and if your idea of the perfect holiday is to take in all the splendours of the deep blue sea there are countless activities to take part in – including snorkelling, sailing, surfing, scuba diving, and more – all taking place in the sun’s rays of course!

Soon enough you’ll find that the essence of time just seems to roll away with the shells on the shore. And don’t be surprised if you forget what day it is. Sound too good to be true? It’s truly anything but. Whether your idea of the perfect beach holiday is to plunge into the crystal waters of the Bahamas, sink your toes into the idyllic white and black sand beaches of Hawaii, or absorb the warm and tropical paradise that Mexico has to offer, it’s all within reach – and you simply can’t go wrong.

As long as you have set yourself up with nice accommodation in advance, say a hotel on the beach, or something less refined, you can eliminate the final factor which could possibly cause anxiety and ensure that you are completely free to simply relax. There are a range of outstanding locales available to the inquisitive tourist, from tropical terrain to dazzling city coastlines. Visit your agent to catch a glimpse of all the luxurious hotels, fantastic locations, and amazing deals available to you.

When it comes to the wealth of the options you have for beach holidays, go with ‘whatever floats your boat’, but just remember not to let time keep track of you. Lose yourself in a place where the sun and the moon sparkle off warm waters, and where the sound of the waves will lull you to sleep at night. With all that beaches have to offer – surf, sand, sun and relaxation – it’s clear why beach holidays will never become a thing of the past.

So why not make your next holiday a beach holiday? It might be seen as unadventurous, but for relaxing in awe-inspiring sunrises and glorious sunsets it’s tough to beat.

Netherlands: Sign Of Prosperity

Posted by Mutual-Funds | Hotel Review | Tuesday 21 July 2009 2:55 pm

If you ever need to name a country which qualifies as the best example of liberalism, modernity and prosperity, Netherlands is the best suitable to mention. This ?big? small monarchy in the Northwest of Europe has much more than windmills, cheese, tulips and wooden shoes. Netherlands lies between North Sea, Belgium and Germany. The golden period of this country was during 17th century when Dutch Empire vastly expanded to New York, parts of India, forts along the African coast and some Indonesian colonies.

During its overseas expansion and industrial revolution in 19th century, some notable architecture became a part of the Netherlands? cities. Amsterdam and Leiden possess some big baroque mansions of 17th century which belonged to rich merchants of the city?they were commanders of Dutch fleet. It is interesting to see how they stashed away different small and precious things in their mansions.

Painters and paintings have been the most famous assets of Netherlands. Dutch feel proud of their bunch of world famous painters like Rembrandt, van Gogh, Frans Hals and Johannes Vermeer and their exclusive paintings. Besides the glorious 17th century history, it features many other interesting things. First of all, the relaxed, open and international atmosphere invigorates the tourists to spend more time here. Some excellent museums and great historical monuments are there in different cities.

Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Maastricht are some of the most visited cities in Netherlands. Rotterdam is worlds largest seaport. Destinations like Den Bosch (‘s Hertogenbosch) and Arnhem and Zwolle, too, have a lot for you to see. And if love cycling, it may prove to be a exciting opportunity to explore the country on bicycle?Netherlands is Flat and adequately sized. Hotels in Netherlands are quite well equipped to ad to your pleasure of stay.

Central Spain

Posted by Mutual-Funds | Hotel Review | Tuesday 21 July 2009 10:55 am

Situated in the centre of the country, Madrid is the capital. It is a city of over 3 million people and a crossroads for rail, road and air travel. Its altitude of 660 meters gives rise to a classic temperature profile of cold winters and hot summers, making spring and autumn the best times to visit. Those who can get away from Madrid during August make for the cooler north or south to the Med.

Despite the climate the capital city has its own individual personality. It holds the Paruqe del Retiro, a world famous area of paths and avenues, a royal palace and grand public squares. Its museums are brimming with Spain?s historic treasures. Madrid is a city that has the best in shopping facilities. The latest designer clothes are sold in classy upmarket stores. There are food markets throughout the city and the centuries-old Rastro, open every Sunday, is one of the world?s greatest flea markets.

The central plateau is covered in dry plains and massive rolling fields. Given the attractions of the Costas and the Islands it is not an area where many Europeans call home. It is a place to work. Long straight roads and huge fields with wheat, sunflowers and grape overwhelm the region. It is deserted and of real beauty, suitable for those endangered in agriculture or for those who want to get off the beaten track, going back to the roots in old rural Spain.

Traveling With Dogs

Posted by Mutual-Funds | Hotel Review | Tuesday 21 July 2009 6:50 am

Traveling with dogs can sometimes be a challenge. In our case we have two dogs that are as different as day and night. One is an 80 lb. Labrador and the other a 5 lb. Papillion. So you might imagine what works for one doesn’t necessarily work for the other.

Living in South Florida we have been known to have our occasional hurricane. I’m here to tell you that I HATE storms. They announce one coming and the dust is trailing behind me! To complicate my fear of storms we have the 2 dogs and an elderly father that lives with us. So our exit out of town needs to be well thought out.

First of all, its important to have a list of necessary supplies. By having the list you aren’t rushing around at the last minute worrying that you’ve remembered everything. Things you might include on your list are your dog’s or cat’s vaccination record. If you don’t have one, at the very least have the vet’s phone number. He or she can always provide the information to you, should the need arise. Have a list of any medications your pet may be taking and the proper dosage. Water and food dishes, leads, collars and a few toys are a necessity when traveling with your pet. You want them to feel as comfortable and ?at home? as possible.

For our lab, we have the option to take one of the back seats out so that he has plenty of room to stretch out. The Papillion gets an old pillow to rest on, or you may have a dog bed. Try to keep as much familiar for them as possible. This assists in keeping restlessness to a minimum.

We research our route well before heading out to make sure of which hotels are pet friendly. Be sure and call the hotel ahead of time. We have found that hotels we visited in the past, stopped accepting pets. We also found a wide range of additional fees for the stay. Holiday Inn Express is one of our personal favorites. I can not stress enough the need to phone ahead!

While in the car be sure your pet is always secured. We keep our dogs on a lead and have found this very helpful. Especially when someone is exiting or entering the car you don’t want the pet to dash out into traffic or up a tree and be harmed.

Like people, pets appreciate stretching their legs and the chance to relieve themselves. Most rest stops have designated areas for you to use. Be sure you take this time to water and exercise them. A happy pet makes for a happy owner and a pleasant trip.

Barcelona Weather

Posted by Mutual-Funds | Hotel Review | Monday 20 July 2009 6:55 pm

Barcelona enjoys a warm, welcoming climate and pleasant temperatures all year round, since it is located on the shores of the Mediterranean. Similar to other European regions, Barcelona has well defined seasons in which the temperatures and general weather are fairly predictable. Since it is on the seacoast, Barcelona has a relatively high humidity level of about 70%. June and August are the warmest months, with the mercury higher than 30 degrees (Celsius), perfect for a holiday close to the sea, relaxing on the beaches or in the pools, walking through the city wearing light clothing, or just relaxing and having a cold drink at the various terraces available in the city.

But definitely the best weather can be found by the end of summer and beginning of fall, from September up through part of December, when one can still get a lot of sun, but temperatures are milder than in summer. Barcelona is in the center of the Costa Brava, Spain’s northernmost Mediterranean coastline, and also the commercial center for this region. Barcelona weather is traditionally hot and reliable, with an average rainfall of 1.7 inches per month, except for September and October where 3 to 4 inches per month is the average. The rainfall nourishes the many green areas around the city.

With winter temperatures hovering around 10 degrees Celsius, Barcelona never gets too cold. The ideal months to visit are May, June and September, when one can rely on good weather and avoid the occasional extreme heat. Being situated on the shores of the Mediterranean, Barcelona is blessed with good weather for most of the year. January is the coldest month, with top temperatures averaging 13? Celsius (55? Fahrenheit), while August is the hottest, with an average high of 29? Celsius (82? Fahrenheit).

For all seasons of the year, Barcelona enjoys sunshine. One can eat in open-air restaurants or have a drink on the terraces, by the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.

Scotland Tours For Everyone!

Posted by Mutual-Funds | Hotel Review | Monday 20 July 2009 2:55 pm

Whether you are looking for Scotland tours that take you through history or Scotland tours that show you just how far the country has come in the last few centuries, there is a tour for you. Scotland is a country that is rich in history and rich in people who have a deep love for their country.

Scotland Tours with a True Scot

If you are looking for the best way to see Scotland, you need to make sure that you are touring the country with a true Scot. That does not necessarily mean your tour guide needs to be wearing a kilt and running around with a thick accent, but it does mean that finding someone who was born and raised in Scotland will greatly increase the quality of your Scotland tours.

There are several ways to make sure that you are being led by a true native person, and the first way is to just ask your tour company up-front if they employ only native Scots. Once you are on your tour, ask your guide about their country and their home. Ask your guide where they grew up; what they love the most about their homeland, and why they have never moved on. Ask about family and friends. By doing so, you will get not only a deeper sense of your guide, but a deeper sense of their love for their country. And, as an added bonus, your Scotland tours will be a unique experience.

Single Family or Group Scotland Tours

Most, if not all, travel companies only offer Scotland tours at a group rate. While this can be cost-effective and a little more comfortable for most people, single family Scotland tours are a truly magical and unique experience. If you and your family are feeling adventurous, see if you can find a tour-guide that is willing to just give your family a tour. It may be easier to find someone to do this than you think. If you stick to the more traditional Scotland tours, make sure you don?t just blend into the group.

All Scotland Tours are not the Same

Believe it or not, not all Scotland tours are the same. While most tours will include similar elements such as castles or traditional lore, there are different tours available for different kinds of people. Making sure that you choose the right kind of tour will help you and your family gets the most out of their tour experience. If your family is full of history buffs, there are plenty of Scotland tours that will play to your love and interest. You can walk almost back to the beginning of recorded history about Scotland on the right tour. You can see ancient castles and strongholds, and walk on grassy fields where epic battles once took place.

If, however, you and your family do not want to add an academic side to your vacation, there are Scotland tours that deal with the more modern parts of Scotland?s history and future. You can see the beginnings of the great new era in Scotland and you can tour the current film and history scene. You can see the places where Hollywood has left its mark, and even find yourself a little closer to your favorite Hollywood and music stars.

No matter what kind of Scotland tours interest you, there is something available. No tour of a country like Scotland would be complete without a tour of some of the more well-known and popular castles. Make sure your Scotland tours include a little local color and variety, as well. Find a local pub and grab dinner. If there is an outdoor festival going on while you are there, join the festivities. Make yourself a student of the Scottish culture and way of life, and your time in the country will be an amazing experience. Let yourself be immersed, and you will be forever changed.

Whatever you are looking for in Scotland tours, make sure you take the time to research your options so you can find the perfect fit. Scotland is too great a country and there are too many amazing opportunities available for you to miss out!

Destroyed City

Posted by Mutual-Funds | Hotel Review | Monday 20 July 2009 10:55 am

Dresden is the capital of Saxony and one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. Someone called it ?Florence-on-Elba? and, really, like Florence, Dresden was known for its architecture and art treasures.

It was nice and flourishing city, but by the middle of the XX century situation has changed. During World War II Dresden was completely destroyed. Since that city and state government has been taking a lot of efforts to restore the city. They planned to finish all works by 2006 (800 anniversary of Dresden), but there is still a lot to be done. Among the nearest plans of restoration are Frauenkirche built between 1726 and 1743 in baroque style and know for its dome.

However, Dresden is once again a popular tourist destination. A lot of beautiful churches and interesting museums attract tourists from all over the world. Restored Hofkirche is the largest church in Saxony. Fa?ade shows 38 historic and bible characters. Kreizkirche is the home for the famous chorus.

One of the symbols of the city is Dresden Opera Theater. The first Opera House at this location was built 1838-41 by the architect Gottfried Semper and considered to be one of the most beautiful theatres in Europe. After the fire of 1869, the house was reconstructed 1871-78 in High Renaissance style. At the end of World War II, in 1945, Opera House was badly concerned. In 1977 – 1985 the theatre was reconstructed, considering the requirements of a modern opera house.

Albertinium is a museum named in the honor of its founder ? king Albert the Saxon. It was constructed in 1884-87. Here you can see the works of the German and French artists of XIX-XX centuries.

One of the most impressive samples of baroque style is Zwinger palace. It houses some museums, especially popular is Dresden Painting Gallery. It exhibits such masterpieces as ?Sistine Madonna? by Rafael and ?Sleeping Venus? by Giorgione.

The palace was built in 1710-1722 in the honor of August the Strong. Like the entire Dresden the palace was erased from the surface in 1945, but in its 1964 opened its doors again.
