Hotel Guide In China

Posted by Mutual-Funds | Hotel Review | Friday 10 July 2009 10:50 pm

When it comes to hotels within China, you just have to be a little careful.

?Hotel Travel Guide China – International Brand hotels, 4 and 5 Star

Mostly these types of 4 and 5 star hotels will be ok, generally they will be run by a western boss and have western heads of all the departments.

Training, etc, of the staff, consistency of the level service from an international brand hotel is important, so most will have enough English speakers around to make your stay welcome and hassle free.

The breakfast will be catered for both Chinese and Western appetites, with the hotel occupancy rate around 50 ? 50 Chinese to Westerner.

?Hotel Travel Guide China ? Chinese hotels, 4 and 5 stars within the Major Cities

Within the major cities, most will be as the International brands and the level of service just as good.

Within the restaurants and shops, the English should be at a level that you would get most things without too much bother.

If the clientele is Westerner and Chinese, the breakfast will be all the usual food that you will recognize.

?Hotel Travel Guide China ? Chinese hotels, 4 and 5 star, Rural location

I lot of Chinese travel, for these hotels this is their major business, not westerners, the westerners are classed as an extra, which has come along over the last few years.

Some have not learnt to deal with this extra business yet.

These more out of the way Chinese 4 and 5 Star hotels are a little different; comparatively the fixtures and fitting will be the same standard as any 4 or 5 Star hotel, however sometimes the same care and attention in the maintenance and service to the customer will be different to what you will be used too.

Not necessarily worst or bad, just different.

Western and Chinese expectations in all areas of the China travel business are different, this is the why I set up Travel-the-Real-China .com.

The level of English generally will not be as good, so just take your time, they will find someone, or you will work, just keep your cool.

I have stayed at some great Chinese 4 and 5 star hotels, and been very happy, so do not be put off.

All I have visited have been clean tidy and for an overall statement: a pleasant stay was had by all.

The breakfast will be a Chinese breakfast and if it is a regular stop for Western travelers, some western food will be served.

If it is an out of the way place, you may not get the type of breakfast you expect, the Chinese eat different things for breakfast, so to get a simple cup of tea or coffee and some toast just will not happen.

There will be hot water, if you have to have your tea or coffee, bring your own.

The breakfast will have lots of food, just not, what you will be expecting.

?Hotel Travel Guide China ? Chinese hotels, 3 star

These 3 star Chinese hotels usually gets very high traffic and occupancy? mostly Chinese, and now the westerners, especially with the major cities

For these hotels, maintenance is not high on there lists, so you may find a few things that will not work or have fallen of the wall.

If it is dangerous, most of the time, something will be done, otherwise no one will care.

Within the major cities most will be clean and tidy and offer some sort of western food for breakfast. Out in the remoter areas? not really.

The breakfast will have lots of food, just not, what you will be expecting.

Take some tea and coffee if you really need this there will always be hot water.

The level of English within the major cities will be, just enough for you to check in, and out in the remoter areas, checking in can take come time.

There is a high number of these hotels and it can be a great way to see the country, in Tibet the 3 star hotels are a little pricy, however within China most are good value and will be clean with showers in all the rooms.

You just need to be a where; its good value, clean and some small things maybe a little frustrating with it, however that?s China.

Go with the flow, its part of the adventure of China.

?Hotel Travel Guide China ? Shanghai hotels – Special rates and location

I know of a few small and very good value inner city hotels within Shanghai.

These are Chinese hotels and will not be on anyone?s list to book, as they are new and classed as Chinese business hotels.

Useful Information About Paris

Posted by Mutual-Funds | Hotel Review | Friday 10 July 2009 6:55 pm

The French term Lut?ce may not sound familiar but is a name the city of Paris was known by in earlier times. Paris is a popular tourist destination along with being a rich metropolitan city. It is the largest French city along with being the capital of France. The city boasts of innumerable historical avenues, monuments and museums. It is considered to be an architectural wonder and boasts of exquisite eighteenth century heritage buildings and palaces.

Paris was not always as large as it is today. When rail lines were laid out in the 1840′s it allowed migrants to flow into the city. Paris has always been perceived as the city of opportunities and continues to attract tourists, immigrants and people from the suburbs and neighboring cities. After having witnessed two severe bouts of cholera that greatly crippled the city, Paris continued to grow rapidly. Historians suggest Paris has been a part of numerous wars and sieges, along with being governed by foreign rulers.

The city of Paris is densely populated and has a relatively small metropolitan area. Paris has three airports and a comprehensive rail and motorway network. Its rich artistic backdrop is attributed to the humble nature of French noblemen of earlier generation. A number of these men and women were patrons of art. This prompted them to support artwork to an extent that the city boasts of the Louvre, which is prided to be amongst the most famous museums. The city rests on the banks of the river Seine and is thought to be home to more that 9.9 million people.

Paris is rated very high amongst fashion houses and boasts of a fast and exciting nightlife. Estimates suggest that Paris caters to more than thirty million visitors annually. Though most would take one trip to the Eiffel tower, the city boasts of many other archaic and architectural wonders that can keep visitors mesmerized for life.

Niagara Falls

Posted by Mutual-Funds | Hotel Review | Friday 10 July 2009 2:50 pm

Arguably the most famous waterfall in the world, Niagara Falls consists of three separate waterfalls: the Horseshoe Falls (also known as the Canadian Falls), the American Falls, and the adjacent Bridal Veil Falls. It is the second largest waterfall in the world, second only to Victoria Falls in southern Africa. Imagine its power, with over 168,000 cubic meters of water falling over the crest line every minute! A breathtaking sight indeed. Attracting 14 million tourists annually, Niagara Falls straddles the Canada-US border and is shared by the cities of Niagara Falls, New York and Niagara Falls, Ontario.

As glaciers melted and retreated after the last Ice Age, land rose behind it to form ridges such as the Niagara Escarpment. It also formed today?s Lake Erie and its surrounding lowlands. The lake overflowed nearly 12,000 years ago, and Niagara Falls was born. Erosion has shifted the falls from its original location seven miles north in Lewiston.

During summer, Niagara Falls draws the highest number of visitors. After dark, floodlights illuminate both sides of it until midnight, from the Canadian side. From the American side, you can have a view of American Falls from walkways along Prospect Park or from an observation tower.

Queen Victoria Park on the Canadian side contains gardens, and platforms that offer excellent views of both the American and Horseshoe Falls. The underground walkways in the park lead to observation rooms creating an illusion of being within the falling waters. For the highest panoramic view of the falls, you can visit the observation deck of the Skylon Tower. If you look at the opposite direction from the tower, you can get a view of far-away Toronto as well.

Since 1846, the Maid of the Mist cruises have carried visitors into the whirlpools beneath the falls. The Spanish Aerocar, a cable car designed by a Spanish Engineer and built in 1916, carries passengers over the whirlpool below the falls on the Canadian side.

Brighton England A Quick Guide

Posted by Mutual-Funds | Hotel Review | Friday 10 July 2009 10:50 am

Brighton is a city resting on the southern coast of England. The city is a seaside resort located in the county of Sussex. The city boasts a Neolithic causeway enclosure, which dates back to 3500BC. However the first recorded mention of Brighton dates back to the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, which was written between AD1 and 1154AD. In 1514, Brighton (then a fishing town) was burnt to the ground by invading French soldiers. The town was quickly rebuilt, but it did not grow significantly until 1753 when Dr Richard Russell declared that the salt water of the area offered significant health benefits. The area rapidly became a popular tourist destination for the Georgian upper classes.

Today, Brighton is still a hugely popular area for holiday-makers, and the site of the original fishing town (now known as The Lanes) boasts winding streets, which are popular amongst visitors looking for collectibles or quiet cafes. The city is home to two universities: the University of Sussex and Brighton University. Due to this, the city is renowned for its youthful, liberal population and lively nightlife. Brighton offers an abundance of bars, clubs and music venues, while it also has a legendary ?free party? scene dating back to the early 90?s. The city is also home to a large gay and lesbian community, whose presence is celebrated each year in the week-long ?Brighton Pride? festival.

The city boasts numerous attractions, not least the picturesque Brighton Pier, featuring plenty of seaside amusements. Brighton Beach is also a popular destination for visitors hoping to enjoy the sunshine. Another attraction is the Sea Life Centre, a well-kept aquarium close to Brighton Pier, which is worth a visit. The North Laine district is another area popular with tourists. This neighbourhood is famed for its left-field, artistic residents and is perfect for shoppers looking for some unusual items

Dominican Republic History

Posted by Mutual-Funds | Hotel Review | Friday 10 July 2009 6:50 am

The Dominican Republic is the second largest country in the Carribbean region of the world. The Dominican Republic lies to the east of the Caribbean Islands and is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean in the north and the Caribbean Sea in the south. The Dominican Republic enjoys a representative democracy similar to that in the U.S. The history of the republic dates back to over 5,000 years. Christopher Columbus explored it in 1492. He named the new colony, La Espa?ola. Taino Indians were the inhabitants of the island at that time. The capital city of Santo Domingo was founded in 1496. History saw the Spanish ruling the country in the era preceding 1795. The French took over that year. The French lost their possessions to the Haitians who ruled it from 1804 to 1808. Spain gained control of the colony and ruled it until 1821. The country fell to the Haitians again in 1822, and they ruled until 1844. The Spanish empire again took possession of the country from 1861 to1865.

The United States occupied the country between 1916 and 1924. From 1930 to 1961, a military dictator by name Rafael Le?nidas Trujillo Molina ruled the country. Joaqu?n Balaguer, the leader of PRSC (Partido Reformista Social Cristiano), was the president of the country from 1966 to 1978. The country became stable in his regime. He was defeated by Salvador Jorge Blanco of the Dominican Revolutionary Party in 1982. He was re-elected in 1990. Since 1996, competitive presidential elections have been conducted on a regular basis.

The Two Faces Of Hotel Accommodation Experience In Russia

Posted by Mutual-Funds | Hotel Review | Friday 10 July 2009 2:55 am

If you are planning to visit Russia, specifically Siberia, there are a number of hotels where you can stay and have a comfortable sleep. One of these hotels is the Best Eastern Druzhba Hotel, which guarantees you a welcome accommodation.

You will not only be fascinated with the hotel?s amazing and superb design but also with the hotel personnel or staff. All of the hotel personnel are very friendly and welcoming and they would make you feel you?re just in your own house. These personnel were trained properly to serve and provide every hotel guest?s needs and concerns. Upon your entry to the hotel premises, their smile and warmness will be the first to greet you.

Aside from this, the hotel has different facilities that are perfectly designed to make your stay even more comfortable. There are facilities inside the hotel rooms so that the guests would feel that they are just staying in their own room. The hotel is also equipped with other facilities outside like swimming pool and spa which will make your stay more enjoyable. Efficient Best Eastern Druzhba Hotel service combined with the natural beauty of Siberia will give you a perfect combination to make your Russian vacation truly memorable and one of a kind.

But if there are chic and comfortable hotels in Russia, there are also terrible hotels in that place. I remembered last year when I had a trip in Russia and I had to stay in this pathetic room in a hotel. I was so disgusted with that hotel. At first, I thought my stay would become a great one because the people were very warm and friendly and the hotel has a very welcoming environment. But it seemed that I was so unlucky because the room that I occupied was the last room available. It was so small that I cannot even move and sleep very well. There was no air conditioning in the hotel room that?s why I have to settle for an electric fan manufactured decades ago.

Because I was so frustrated during my first night there, I moved out first thing in the morning. Worst, they did not allow me to go without me paying my three-day accommodation in the hotel. Since I really wanted to find a comfortable hotel where I can stay for the remaining days, I paid the whole amount and moved out quickly as I can. Good thing I was able to see the luxurious Golden Ring Hotel within the area and I immediately inquired for an available room.

As soon as the receptionist said that there was an available room inside the hotel, I immediately smiled. At least, there was a comfy place where I can stay other than that old damned hotel.
